The DUNE storyboard book and Jodorowsky's DUNE documentary film directed by Frank Pavich
The DUNE storyboard book was made to sell Jodorowsky's vision for DUNE to movie studios. The film Jodorowsky's DUNE is as close as we might ever get to that original vision.
The DUNE storyboard book was made to sell Jodorowsky's vision for DUNE to movie studios. Inside were a collection of storyboard-like pieces of artwork, laying out the possibilities. This would be the closest the world got to the final product. The closest the world will ever get to this mythical work of art is a documentary called Jodorowsky's Dune. It in itself is a masterpiece in modern filmmaking, chronicling the greatest science fiction film never made.
As close as most have gotten!
The film Jodorowsky's Dune was released in the year 2014. I and we recommend you see it only when you have time to dedicated to watching deeply. In this film, one can become quite drowned in detail.
Silent Hills and P.T. by Hideo Kojima (UNREALIZED!)
On the afternoon of August 12th, 2014 the PlayStation Network Store released a trailer for a horror game known only as "P.T".
On the afternoon of August 12th, 2014 the PlayStation Network Store released a trailer for a horror game known only as "P.T". This trailer, (also known as "Playable Trailer") turned out to be an interactive teaser for a game that would eventually turn out to be the newest Silent Hill. This game was to be called "Silent Hills" and would have been made by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro.
Unfortunately, the final production of the game this PT previewed was not carried through to term. Kojima had a long-standing set of issues with the production company KONAMI which ultimately lead to the two splitting ways
Silent Hills was cancelled in April of 2015, while it was suggested that Kojima left Konami in October of that same year. Konami announced they'd leave the AAA game business in September of 2015, but revealed Metal Gear Survive, their first post-Kojima Metal Gear in August of 2016. Meanwhile Kojima posts large amounts of well-curated pieces of media on Twitter and there's a new horror game in place of the last.

This one's called Death Stranding, and it contains Denmark's National Treasure Mad Mikkelsen as one of its key in-game storyline actors. This won't be Silent Hills, but it'll certainly be terrifying. Those not fully terrified will at least likely be deeply disturbed.

Death Stranding also has Norman Reedus as an actor, just as it was in Silent Hills. In the trailer above there's also an appearance of Guillermo del Toro in the digital flesh. It's been suggested by Kojima that the game will be released some time before the year 2019 with Kojima Productions as developers and Sony Interactive Entertainment as publisher.
ALIEN Covenant Movie Materials and Review
Watch these two videos then go see this movie immediately, post-haste.
I was extremely lucky to have seen ALIEN Covenant before being spoiled by the inevitable gush of spoilers that'll come after this weekend. Beyond this first weekend, the film's impact will be diminished to a devastating degree. I saw the movie expecting little more than a rehash of Prometheus, with less "Mystery Time" and more "Oh Jesus Everyone Is Going To Die Horrifically."
What I got was a very satisfying set of shocks.
I saw the following two videos before viewing the movie in the theater. While they aren't absolutely necessary for understanding ALIEN Covenant's content, they did enhance the experience. Director Ridley Scott wants you to see the two videos below before seeing the final film in theaters. These videos made the film feel deeper for me, and made the mysteries of Prometheus feel sewn more deeply into the fabric of the second film in the trilogy.
Above is the video called "The Crossing". It was created for and meant to be viewed by audiences before seeing ALIEN Covenant. "The Crossing, an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus. Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity's creators."
Second is "Last Supper" which shows the crew of the Covenant preparing to go on their long journey to a new world. "The official prologue to Alien: Covenant introduces the crew of the mission as they gather for a final meal before entering cryosleep."
I was grateful for not having seen any other trailer before the movie here on opening weekend. There ARE trailers and images on ALIEN social media accounts (out now) that take a real crack at revealing the film's key plot points for those not yet properly motivated to pay for a ticket. There are officially promoted videos, photos, and screengrabs out there today that kick the film directly in the teeth.
ALIEN fans should not dare to miss this film in theaters. As soon as possible.

From the 1962 original Topps trading card set: MARS ATTACKS! Included are the fronts and backs of the 55-card set as well as several images of the box and pack design.
Mars Attacks - A SHORT SYNOPSIS OF THE STORY
Planning to conquer the Earth, Mars sends flying saucers through space carrying deadly weapons. Burning the cities, the Martians destroy much of Earth’s population. The enemy then enlarges insects to over 500 times their normal size and releases them on the helpless planet. People go into hiding, knowing that death is the consequence if they are discovered by the creatures. Despite its losses, Earth launches a counterattack that shatters the Martians on their home planet, Mars.
While other scans of this set exist, this used set represents the true-to-life nature of the cards as they exist today. Supposing they were actually collected by a kid when they came out, and weren't kept in collectable sleeves in a drawer for the past few decades.

Initial marketing for the set was done through dummy corp Bubbles, Inc with name "Attack from Space". Production was halted by Topps when a Connecticut District Attorney initiated an inquiry into the violent nature of the artwork.

Gucci and Beyond (Star Trek Retro Sci-Fi Fashion Madness)
What you're about to witness is above normal - beyond average...
What you're about to witness is above normal - beyond average. It's a campaign for some clothing made by the folks at GUCCI, using 1950s and 1960s science fiction as inspiration. It's completely bonkers - and not just because it's clever to use this source material.
The images and the video that were meant to present this collection of clothing are both the message and the medium. They're the presentation, but they're also a product for consumption. These bits of media give me a fulfilling visceral sensation - they're so deeply well crafted.
The campaign is called GUCCI AND BEYOND, and its subtitle is "when human characters interact with dinosaurs and extraterrestrial creatures."
"The delusional and psychedelic decorations are composed of landscapes of surreal space and interiors of retro-futuristic spaceships. For the Fall-Winter 2017 campaign by Glen Luchford, creative director Alessandro Michele was inspired by the science fiction of the 1950s and 1960s, including the legendary Star Trek TV series. The mixed cast of humanoids, extraterrestrials, robots, landlords and even dinosaurs comes to life in colorful and decorative collections to create a composition rich in imagination and fantasy."
