Two very still females by the name of Hit and Miss (Narinda Reeders and Tai Snaith) lay very very motionless. They wear red and white and rollerskates. Look at them! They are very simple. Look at them together laying there.

Hit&Miss is an ongoing performance collaboration between Narinda Reeders and Tai Snaith.

The duo have been working together for the past five years practicing the art of painful stillness, amongst other things. Each performance employs the staple materials of the girls dressed identically in red and white. The work of Hit&Miss re-visits the 19th century idea of Tableau Vivant (French for Living Picture) with the aim to create frozen moments in time, little deaths, immortalized failures and the palpable tension between sex and death. They often choose to pop up unexpectedly in all sorts of situations such as public spaces, exhibitions, parties, flights, shopping festivals and car club rallies.

Do you think they sneak breathsavers every once in a while? I wonder if they’ll ever collaborate with the White Stripes, only on account of the uh… similarities in the pallet.
