BONEYARD

What if you were in a giant graveyard of neon lights? Well, that’d be super NEATO wouldn’t it? It just so happens that there IS something like that. It’s called, get this, the “Neon Museum.” Inside the Neon Museum, there is, yes, get this, the “Neon Graveyard.” Holy crap I bet you can guess what they’ve got in there! Yes! All (or a whole heck of a lot) of the Neon signs in Las Vegas are sent here to DIE!

Turn on your eyeball lights right now immediately.

You see, when you make something so wild as a neon light for a Las Vegas casino, you make something that even though it’s material, and even though it’s EVIL!, can provide aesthetic “treasure” for generations!

Treasure!

Something so very magical that it will be ammunition for artists and designers for years and years and years!

Here’s what Neon Museum has to say:

NEON MUSEUM

Most of our signs are exhibited in “The Boneyard” where they serve as inspiration to fascinated artists, students, historians and designers. It is home to some of the most treasured and world-famous signs of Las Vegas—Caesars Palace, Binions Horsehoe, Golden Nugget, Silver Slipper, and, most recently the Stardust. The three-acre Neon Boneyard houses more than 150 historic, non-restored signs. As part of our guided tours, the signs are available to be viewed at ground level and up close. Each has been donated or loaned by individuals, businesses and sign companies such as Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO).
