World Famous Design Junkies Tadanori Yokoo

Focusing now on his painting works and super-fun clothing line, graphic design champion Tadanori Yokoo has quite a fantastic collection of posters and poster projects under his belt. It would be a feat indeed to collect them all. What we’ve done here is to collect what’s believed to be all of his poster works large enough for viewing on the internet. Someday there might be a massive scanning of his works so they might be entered into the great machine. Until then, this.

Stand back and just look at the appeal of it.

The photos in this set are from several collections. One is a set of posters made for bands. You’ll know these because generally they say a band’s name pretty prominently somewhere on the poster, or in the case of the Beatles posters, the fab four floating cannot be mistaken.

Another set is taken from the magnificent album you see below. It’s a musical opera based on the poster art of Yokoo.

Opera From The Works Of Tadanori Yokoo By Toshi Ichiyanagi

“Opera From The Works Of Tadanori Yokoo” By Toshi Ichiyanagi. With this album comes this collection of images, all posters made by Yokoo. There was a box set at some point with each of these posters in post-card form. All of the scans from this set can be found in the gallery below, courtesy of a fabulous internetter A Journey Round My Skull. A fantastic resource for learning more about this album and it’s contents can be found at Opera.

Next you’ll find a Mazda 110s 1968 brochure, also known as the Mazda “Cosmo,” courtesy of Keith. Keith a good dude. You ever see this at the flea market, pick it right up.

The rest of the images in the gallery below are from contributors from the world of design, design collectors, and design addiction: Marquette University, Wallula Junction, MiuMiu Wangyu, Tokino, Azaroth, Nakameguro, Diskursdisko, some manga covers from my homie Ryan Hademan (who’s gone to my Alma Mater MCAD,) Eiga Go Go, Pierre Wendling, and of course some tiny photographs and extra works from the head cheese himself at http://www.tadanoriyokoo.com/,

This post is part of the World Famous Design Junkies under the influence category.
