NO GRAFFITI ALL BUFF

Lemme tell you about this guy who I met one time (more than a couple years ago) when he and a couple other artist people were on tour to all the Metropark stores. His name was Buff Monster. He had glasses and a mohawk. And he drew some rather-suggestive little pink monsters (something like what you’re probably looking at right now!) And wouldn’t ya know it, here he has appeared again! He’s just chillin at the Corey Helford Galleryin Culver City California with his new fancy art show!

“HEAVY METAL ICE CREAM SMILE” Corey Helford Gallery proudly presents Buff Monster’s first new body of work since his highly successful 2008 exhibit “The Sweetest Thing”. With his meticulous superflat technique and irrepressibly energetic palette and design, Buff is emerging as a premiere force in the street-born new contemporary fine art scene. For further information please contact the gallery at dwg@coreyhelfordgallery.com

Ohhh! Hay! We’ve talked about that before: “superflat”, haven’t we?! Yes. It’s the flattening of the whole world! Take it flatter just another notch. And don’t forget your coiner, oh term of flattening: Takashi Murakami.

Feel the cuteness of this gallery preview!

Then go to the show maybe too! Insider tip- the opening show has icecream treats!

Opening Reception Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 7 to 10pm
Exhibition On View: September 5 to September 26, 2009
