La Vie Sportive Skateboards

When winter hits the midwest, the boards go away. I’m talking about midwest USA of course, but this sort of thing happens all over the place. This particular brand of skateboard gets my engine revving. I found out about it from the designer Francis Pelletier who’s spearheaded the design for the brand. La Vie! Look at the class.

Making a brand, or modifying a brand for a skateboard company can be difficult. It IS difficult I should say, if you’re going to do it in a way that’s going to compete with the competition. Skateboarding and other X-Game sports have become a giant industry, so much so that it’d not been “underground” for twenty years now. To compete, you’ve got to be not so much unique as reliable. You’ve got to do a ton of things like sponsor good skaters and get your name on events, but more than that, your brand has to be powerful and worthy of trust. La Vie has that down right here. This is a nice set of graphic gestures.

Now all they’ve gotta do is everything else!
