The picture you see above is a portrait, perhaps even a self portrait if I may be so bold, of the artist Chris Scarborough. The detail is so fiercely microscopic that it will take the entire rest of this post to tell you about it. But then, I’m going to pack more content in too. All of his 2009 works. Holy crap. He’s an illustrator.
The works you see here plus more (not yet released) works are all possibilities for Scarborough’s next show which will take place some time early next year.
Chris Scarborough is a fantastically amazing photographer as well as he is an illustrator, but for the sake of brevity and the internet, let’s focus on these drawings. The picture you see above and below in the expanded pictures goes by the name Untitled (Portrait) and shows the oddity inherent in each illustration executed by Scarborough.
Untitled (Portrait)
Graphite and Watercolor on Paper

Smell the detail. Smell it.
His pictures deal with destruction and uneasy feelings created by the otherworldly posing-as-human characters he creates. Drink it in.
These are made with graphite and watercolor only.
Also included in this post are the following works which from the images should be pretty easy to match up with the details.
