Sound/Chair makes a sound byte turn a physical seat

Have you ever found yourself sitting on a fart? How would you like to know what that fart looks like? Now, with the wit and ingenuity of designer Plummer Fernandez, the sound of a fart can be a reality! The Sound/Chair is his first sound to come to fruition. This chair is both an audio recording and a real pointy place to sit – don’t take this one lightly.

See this project (and hear the sound!) and more at the portfolio of the designer of Sound/Chair: [Plummer Fernandez] and hear him set it straight right here:

“Sound/Chair begins as a sound that is precisely crafted to form the shape of a chair when visualized as a 3-dimensional object using a volume, time, frequency plot. The chair is an exact replica of the soundwave graph. The result is a product with dual existence as both a sound and chair, and a new approach to designing products. Dimensions: -31dB * 1.35s / w 80  * d 70 * h 85. Material: polyethylene foam, water-jet cut.” – Fernandez

Of course this isn’t the kind of seat you’ll want to sit on – unless it’s hardcore alt-metal industrial madness – then a few sharp edges might be helpful for understanding the beats. So hard!
