This most excellent bike is used by the people at “Neighborhood Art on Wheels” based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This project began to take root in an interactive media class at the University of Minnesota, and since has become a city-wide and world-wide exercise in public space, public art, and everyday issues made public.
Neighborhood Art on Wheels exists to help communities and students utilize artistic interventions with the use of bike-mobilized media disseminators to solve problems, address issues and create connections between people.
Graduate Art Department students TJ Barnes and Peter Haakon Thompson are working as research fellows over the summer. They are receiving support from the Department of Art through a GRPP (Graduate Research Partnership Program) in addition to working with CURA (Center for Urban and Regional Affairs) and specifically with the Neighborhood Planning for Community Revitalization (NPCR) program headed by Kris Nelson.
