Presenting one unbelievably beautiful book. Graffiti / street / rudimentary style artist José Parla made this book to present an amazing look at his extended works. Made to be released in tangent with his first solo show in Miami that went by the same name (Cityscapes.) Miami is Parla’s birthplace, but this show Art Basel, Miami Beach, having taken place December 6th-10th in 2006, was Parla’s first hometown solo show. This book contains the entire show in an array of different presentations, each of them best to display the gloriousness of the works.

This book is perfect bound but opens in a nice way I’ve never seen a perfect bound book open before. There’s center spreads, a giant fold out center, and an all-around lovely setup throughout. Inside you’ll find large scale architectural construction, paintings, mixed media amalgamations, mediums including cement, wood, vinyl, paints, powered dye, waxes, inks, and lots more I’m sure.

The book contains photography by David Perez Shadi, Stefan Ruiz, and Davi Russo, as well as essays by Manon Slome and Michael Betancourt.
