Where new design goes to blossom and lost design goes to live again.

Yes, yes indeed here it is. It’s the Daihatsu Midget II car and/or truck. The Daihatsu Midget II is a beautiful tiny truck manufactured in Japan. It was made from 1996 to 2001, and for those glorious 6 years this little thang was the envy of all those “normal sized” trucks, and here we have one that’s colored just perfectly. See below for a few more examples of this super-kawaii compact and beautiful auto.

Below you’ll see examples with the back either having a cover or not, always for storage. The vehicle comes in 1 or 2 seaters, and comes standard with cuteness. This auto can be driven in real life or in the video game Gran Turismo 2.

The colorful Midget II seen above was found in Hanau, Germany by Twitter user De_Jay. The rest were found at spots around Japan and surrounding countries by the following flicker users: 4563photo, 44871759@N00, giantginkgo, a few from the Wikimedia commons at Category:Daihatsu_Midget_II, and finally, the tiny blueprint is from http://the-blueprints.com/ – if anyone knows where to get a bigger version of this, throw me a fine little snide or loving comment below!

Above: 1996 commercial provided by youtube user:carmovie. Cute cute cute! Tiny but varied at the time this post is posted, check out the Vehicles category on World Famous Design Junkies for some of the strangest things you’ve ever seen on wheels. Wooden, metal, and whatever else works.
