Lifted by Josh Keyes

This right here is unnatural nature at it’s finest. This is a show by the fabulous Josh Keyes, painter. The name of the show is “Fragment”, and the theme is transformation. Keyes is known for these paintings, unmistakably his: each of them with animals and urban fervor, each of them ultradimensional in their impossible flatness. Devour this newest set of 10 paintings, two of them unfinished, and witness the blocks cut out from another world.

EDIT: We’ve had a nice visit from the JLevine squirrel whose informed us that several of the pictures aren’t supposed to be out yet, and the notification was kind, so we abide. The rest of the gallery (besides the four images we’re allowed to have up already) will be up tomorrow night, just as soon as the show starts, you betcha.

Josh Keyes paints these works with acrylic paint. They are flat, not computer generated, painted on panels. Each of these ten pieces will be exhibited at Jonathan Levine Gallery starting 7—9pm on Saturday, Jan 16th, 2010. It’ll be shown until February 13, 2010.
