Aesthetic Apparatus Test Prints

As with most or basically ALL serigraph print shops, there are these things called “test prints” – paper upon which multiple “random” layers are put to test the quality of the ink and the quality of the screen. Serigraph printing uses silk screens – aka screenprinting is what this is called. Prints called test prints are generally dirty, gross, and sometimes pretty ugly. When you peek at these Aesthetic Apparatus test prints, you’ll see no non-beauty. This is what happens when you take your mistakes and turn them into treasures.

TEST PRINTS

All test prints are one-of-a-kind (monoprint) products of the screen printing process and are signed and editioned “1/1.” Because these prints serve a very specific, conventional function before they are crowned “beautiful”, there may likely be bent corners, smears, scuffs, dirt or all of the above on any test print. This is evidence of the print’s previous life and is considered a “character building” part of the process.

Approx. 19″ x 25″ — on average.

These prints are only the newest batch. For several years now Aesthetic Apparatus has made its test prints available for the world, and they’ve always been hell of selling out basically instantly. Pop your hands onto one!

Aesthetic Apparatus is a World Famous Design Junkies favorite – operating in the same base city as yours truly, you’d do well to see the kewl coverage we got. Hot hot ink action in all directions!
