The time is now! The FAILE is here! Artist collective FAILE has released several artworks to the public today, some of them screenprints, some of them fine art pieces (mixed media), and one of them a bronze sculpture! Take a peek below for all the details your ink-lovin heart shall desire. Then slobber your print-wetting lips at the Portugal art show FAILE hints at in their own words.
Morning – afternoon – evening everyone…
Hope this finds you well. It’s summertime once again. Feels pretty good. If we had any windows in our studio I’m sure we’d tell you it’s a sunny day in Brooklyn. Either way though we’ve been busy at work. We are releasing a few more prints from the Lost in Glimmering Shadows series. As mentioned in March, we are releasing them throughout the year this is the 2nd release of the year with 2 more to come through the Faile site.
There are 3 new prints today as an editioned set and 3 originals. These latest prints have been heavily worked and layered and we’re happy to share them today. We’ve decided to go with a traditional release this go around. We’re deep in the middle of a summer project and decided to switch it up in the interest of keeping releases fair to everyone. Some people seem to enjoy the lottery, some people like the Buy Now option. We’ll switch it up from time to time and this time we’re going Buy Now. The prints are up now so feel free to have a look.
We are also putting up a few of the long awaited Bronze Bunny Boys. These boys have been 2 years in the making. We finally perfected these with one of the best sculpture casting foundries in the world, Raneri Sculpture Casting. These guys have a long history of producing some amazing work. Most notably for producing Arturo Di Modica’s “Charging Bull” (aka Wall Street Bull). Few may know the Wall Street Bull was an act of guerilla art and placed by the artist on Broad Street in 1989, after the police seized the piece a public outcry ensued and the bull was embraced by the city. NYC installed it permanently two blocks south in the plaza of Bowling Green. If you ever get a chance to sit down with Dominico from Raneri, bring a bottle of Grappa and you’re in for one amazing story.
Also mentioned, we are working on a big new project coming up in September. This will be taking place in Lisbon, Portugal. We will share more details as it comes closer but if you’re anywhere near Lisbon in late September we’d love to see you.
So that’s the news from the studio. We’ll be in touch…
And what a weird one!
Bronze Bunny Boy
Edition of 10. (Numbers 9 and 10 Available)
Bronze – Chocolate Brown Patina
Dimensions: 4.5 x 3.5 x 3 in.
By Faile – 2009The long awaited Bronze version of the Bunny Boy. These sculptures took us 2 years to perfect. They have been jewelry cast by one of the best bronzers in the US, Raneri Sculpture Casting, right here in New York City.
The patina is a deep leathery brown which is a bit tough to get a feel for on the site but looks amazing in person. These Bunny Boys are lovely, heavy, and looking for a good home. They are stamped with a foundry mark on the bottom and edition marked 01-10.
The art collective FAILE is an internationally recognized artist collective with works being bought by major galleries. We, all of us, are inside an art movement that condones people like FAILE to continue to sell their art in both galleries AND to the general public. With the help of the internet, anyone can own a FAILE artwork.
P.S. Don’t forget to visit the strictly screenprinting category if ye know what’s good for ye.
