Ryan McLennan is an artist who uses graphite and acrylic on canvas. The show these paintings are from is called “The Strain of Inheritance” and it opens very soon up at Joshua Linger Gallery. The centerpiece is shown above: a 52″ x 68″ giant called “Departure.” This piece features a giant tree trunk intertwined with bones, bears, and bison, it reminds a fellow of some of the oddest passages from the book “Ender’s Game” – where a giant’s been slain, his carcass having become home to animals and humans galore.
All’s recycled, all’s used.
