Hello Spinal Tap Anvil Antwoord. You see back stage. This project right here is a photo collection taken on tour with two German bands (Bosse and Frida). The photographer has the name Heinrich Holtgreve and is really good at taking photos and making one photo tell the story of the whole space at once (or lack of story if that’s the case, if you know what I mean.) This set’s meant to show through documentation that touring with a band’s definitely not all glamourous diamond baths and sex with dollar bills and cheese snacks. Definitely not. Thanks to well-written fellow collector of lovely ideas Yorath Roth from Letters from Berlin, I’ve re-discovered my favorite sticker from my travels overseas! I live in Minneapolis now, and my trip was to England (Alnwick, London), Scotland (Edinburgh), France (Paris), and Italy (Rome). More than likely I found this in either Rome or Paris. I believe it was Paris. There was a bit more graffiti there than in Rome if I’m not mistaken.

In celebration of this discovery, this post is a small compilation of photos of the stickers I put up in Paris myself! Yay!

I am not even kidding you. That is the name of the solo show happening right now by artist / designer / wildman WK Interact. His name might be just “WK” now cause that’s what it says on the ads, but still, “How to Blow Yourself Up!” That’s what’s up. In this post is a basic rundown of everything that’s in the show. This duo of images is officially part of the “Hero” craze, they being the cover of a “collectable” case for DJ Hero’s Renegade Edition. Eminem and Jay-Z have tracks on this edition of the game, and they hired Studio Number One to whip up a lovely image of these two legendary music making faces. No word on if the images will be produced anywhere else but on the DJ Hero ephemera, but DO expect them to maybe make an appearance in some fine art in the future, as Shepard Fairey like to explore all options with images once he’s done the illustration work. Colors, mediums, rubyliths, everything and anything.

Oh man I HATE IT when people are passive aggressive supreme. So much. So much do I hate such a thing. But I’ll tell you what I like. Green White and Black. As together as they should be, all day and night. Up in this project. It’s a ton of materials, like stickers, sticky-notes, and badges that allow YOU to make the most of your passive aggressive nature in just the most fantastic sticky-designish way possible!

Oh my goodness stickers. In the history of stickerdom I’d say one name “sticks” out in my mind pretty prominently. Shepard Fairey. He’s made a giant career out of stickering and in the process has come in to contact with many an art partner. One of those big-timers was and is PEEL, a magazine for graffiti stickers.

In the process of creating a fantastic outlet for street artists such as Shepard Fairey, the creators of PEEL Magazine, Dave and Holly Combs, have lost their home. It’s time to pay them back. The print you see in this post is made by Shepard Fairey and all proceeds from the sale of the print go toward helping the Combs couple out. Dig it!

Holy blizzardsmith this man is leaving. Erik Inkala. He is a graffiti artist here in Minneapolis and he is heading off to New York city with a big fat sendoff bash as set up by First Amendment Gallery aka Burlesque of North America. It’s sure to be a smelly bash! Apparently there’s going to be a crap-ton of artists involved in this show, and I have no idea where they are going to fit them all. Take a peek at this tiny space they’re going to smash artists into, then go to the show when it starts. Holy crap for god’s sakes.

There I was. On the internet. On the most hidden page of the Burlesque Design intarwebs. And I see it! The “Mystery Grab Bag.” I had to have it. And so I did.
