What a wonderful display. Chew if you will upon this new collection of illustrations by design group Geliografic that goes by the name of “Art of Innovation.” Weapons, ammo, and items of war set in still life paintings stolen from antiquity. Fear now the trends of war, or perhaps feel glad that G’s making fun of them. I’m personally like to note how weapons like these have become as commonplace in artwork these recent years as the items they’re set next to in these pictures. Tastes kinda nice!

Attack of the 6 foot human! In this terrifying post you’ll find wonder!, fantasticism!, the death of all animals! These right here are advertisements for animal rights put out by the UNEP and CMS, designed by Serviceplan! Each of these epic posters depicts the tables being turned on so-called monsters of nature, having now the upper hand: humans! They come with fire, they come with axes… gnawing, biting, breaking, hacking, burning.

Beast Anthology

My goodness it’s been almost a year since we’ve covered any of the grotesque sculpture works of Kris Kuksi. It’s my pleasure to present to you an early peek of his newest creations for his sure-to-be-terrifying upcoming solo show “Beast Anthology” at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York. You’ll find in this post two pieces, each one of them on pre-sale, each one of them will be shown at the show too, but you’ve got the opportunity if you’ve got the scratch to scratch the itch early. Andy’s Buddy’s Portraits Pinched!

I don’t have enough room in the apartment, so that proves it wasn’t me! Frederick R. Weisman, the man who provided the University of Minnesota a bunch o money to create the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum on campus in 1993 (that’s how peeps in MN would know him) has had a bunch of portraits stolen. Portraits made by Andy Warhol. Weisman had this series of sports figures prints commissioned for his collection in 1977-79. One other print portrait of Weisman himself from 1986 was also stolen. Bummer!

Gigantic Color Post Number One

As Emigre turns 25, FontFeed celebrates with a big huge post (you’ve gotta click that), and World Famous Design Junkies gets buckwild. I saw this fantastically red book cover that you see above* and said OH my goodness this is a good cover. The colors. The colors are so lovely I can scarcely believe it. This doesn’t happen just every 10 minutes, so I said to myself then that it was time, OMFG!

This table would be broken in ten minutes or less at my house. Not least of all because I wouldn’t be able to resist breaking one of those little things off just to see how easy it would be. But this table and the rest of the furniture of designer Gareth Neal are objects of some fine vision, workmanship, and detail.
