This group takes a plastic bottle and breaks it down into tiny chips. These chips are then processed into fibers, those fibers are then weaved into Bionic Yarn’s yarn construction. Apparently this amalgamation can then have the feel of cotton, nylon, or essentially any application that you can think of. This process takes bottles that would otherwise be buried down into the earth in landfills.

A statistic Toussant notes on how this process is going to be affecting the environment is 1.7 million bottles. That’s the amount of bottles that have been kept out of the earth thus far with Timerland alone. He goes on to say that it’s not out of their realm of possibility to have that number climb to 10 million by the end of the year given that they get the collaborators they need to create products with the materials they’re creating. Some collaborations they’ve done thus far are Kiehl’s, Moncler and GAP Japan, and what we must assume will be Billionair Boys Club, right Pharrell? Maybe some Bionic Ice Cream shoes?

In this video, Gaga defines the moment as one where she’s allowed to create characters she’ll be recalling forever. Her undergarment self, the Mother Monster, the giant haired Evil Mother, and the birthed evil. Certainly the undergarment character is playing a role not unlike Christ, brought unto this world to emit a soul-deep freedom of both spirit and body, while the birthed evil represents a charming devil, one that not only with a single partner, (this which I’m almost ashamed to admit I see as relatable to the Sith paradigm,) but with a flock of pink hair and suit shall attempt to tear hearts asunder – cold dead eyes watching.

You’ll see Madonna’s face at the end of the video with the gap, Cher throughout as the undergarment self, and pop objects like Superman and Alien also locked amongst not what I’d call brand new imagery, but certainly a refreshing attachment of image to music. Some of the effects are hard to watch – the mirrored areas near the birth for example, but they’re engaging in how difficult they are to process. Skeleton faces and sheets across skin remind one of the horror inflicted by Aphex Twin and Chris Cunningham, and a surprised look will appear in any young face you tell that this sort of video would not have been allowed on daytime television 10 years ago.

Behold a masterpiece, and please allow yourself to enjoy Lady Gaga now, as she is a true pop art force in her absolute prime.

I’ve been searching for a way to take one thing and turn it into another. My own quest involves record covers as canvas, attempting to carry them into another dimension by the name of immortality in artwork. That’s exactly the same thing that’s going on here in this set of ceramic sneakers by Kang S. Lee, a Korean artist living and working in, of all places, Mexico City, Mexico. This project goes by the name “sneakers in ceramics” and it is 100% certainly the bomb. Made entirely with a mold sculpted from a size 41 Nike Dunk, each piece fired to cone 6 (1260′C, 2300F), and now in a collection of 10.

This project, says Lee, will be expanted to 50 to 100 pieces according to however the future decides to unfold. Possible other shoes to be entering into the project (or perhaps another project?) are the Vans Original, Converse, and Adidas Superstar. I also vote for the Puma Clyde, as I do love how it feels on the foot and also looks on the foot.

As I was saying above, this is a fantastic method for converting what’s still considered a low art (or a design for feet, not an art at all.) Converting it into something, something more than just a shoe, into a piece of pricelessness, something that describes history without even having lived through it. Also it’s fabulous that not only the outside of the sneakers are painted, they’re split and crushed and everything, painted on all surfaces.

Sneakers are one of the most exciting and fast-changing phenomena in youth culture today. Sneakers moved out of the world of sports and became part of pop culture, as well as street and high fashion. They have also earned cult status among the serious wearers and collectors, followed by a series of limited editions, collaborations between sport-shoe companies, and designer / artists.

My sneaker project, modeled from a limited edition of Nike Dunk from my own collection, participates in the urban sneaker culture through the creative possibilities of the sneaker-form. It also challenges its extremely fast-changing and fame focused scene by using ceramics, one of the most traditional and labor-intensive mediums. Viewers will be able to enjoy the details and patterns on the ceramic sneakers, whilst being able to question what is behind the form by observing the various deformations of the pieces that often engage our emotions.

We live in a time, right here right now, where many things are called beautiful. The state of modern art is in such a broad, diverse place right now that basically everything goes. We are still reacting off of Pop though, so more often than not the objects you’ll see in a gallery are derivative of something found. For example, artist mister Richard Prince whose photographs of cowboys were (and are) lifted directly from cigarette ads. But this work right here in this post, it’s all new. Designer / artist Jacob Lysgaard not only drew the feathery headdress in this image, he took the photograph of the boy wearing it.

It’s a new world, right here, and it’s screenprinted.

The image above is called “Indianer” and it’s all new, all born of the mind of Lysgaard. Once the boy was photographed, the image was manipulated in a way that allowed it to be one, single color (some form of half-toneing was used). From there, the feathers were drawn in layers, and everything was burned to screens and printed to paper in a limited edition.

The last piece in this series, as you might guess, was the one with the viking kosmonaut*. The boy is my little brother Mons, who were so kind to spend an after noon chilling out in the photo studio.

It’s just the sort of thing you think of a hundred times in a day, but you just never get out there to pick up those crystals from the crystal emporium. You know? Thumbs up for execution, for doing it, and doing it well. Harvest with your eyeballs this and a small load of extra projects by Baxter in the gallery below, whistling while you work.

I can’t imagine your wrist would be in any sort of good shape once you insert this into the mouth of your enemies. Maybe if you actually ARE fighting Fraggles.

Photographer James Dodd presents this “LRP” titled group of images. In these photos you will find a brief glimpse of the world that is Live Role Playing. The people who participate in LRP games are called “Larpers” and make it an epic event to travel to a single meeting place dressed in full garb, using weapons of steel or plastic, cardboard or paper mache. Given a set of rules, point values, and boundaries, they play games in an alternate universe. An alternate universe where people have fur and green skin. LRP for life.

To get an excellent view of what real life LRP play is like, see the non-real-life movie “Role Models.” In it, they dress in medieval garb and do battle on the playing field, the winner of any contest becoming king. Ultra battle in a different dimension!

Metro Doodles is what I call this form of drawing. You sit on the train, tram, whatever you’ve got and you draw the people around you, and if rare cases, there’s a robot or a phantom or something, that’s not a human, but you still wanna draw it. But you’re not always on the train for a long time, especially if you’re on a tram you don’t have a million years to draw. But to capture the scene your eyes see without an instant device such as a camera, well there, a different quality about it. These drawings are all done by Aurélie Bordenave.

Miss Aurélie Bordenave works and plays in Paris, France, and gets a lot of eyeball to fingertips to pencil action on the metro line, and here is the evidence. Look at the masterful works here, and feel the energy. It’s a unique energy, one that only comes from capturing and translating a moment, a scene in life, down for yourself on a piece of paper. And here’s something I bet you might not know: it’s healthy.

For most people, drawing quickly, capturing the world in this fashion, helps on become calm, helps one become centered and strong in the moment. It also, surprise!, helps one become better at drawing and illustrating pictures, which is good for everyone. Everyone should have a basic set of skills in the illustration world. Not only does it make you healthy socially, but it helps you be calm and mentally healthy.

The title of this project is “Croquis de métro” aka “Subway Sketches.”

All good things must fade away. Or rot. That’s why you’ve got to get out there and photograph them. So everyone can hoard them! In this case, it’s about food. How could a person possibly wear a helmet made of cauliflower? This is a question that everyone should be asking themselves, especially if they’re in the fashion industry, as true fruits, vegetables, and dead animals, are really pretty! And should, by all means, be worn as jewelry. That’s what designer / photographer Fulvio Bonavia thought, and thinks, and thusly made happen. This set of photos is called “A Matter of Taste.”

These sorts of fashionable bits have existed, often executed poorly by those with more imagination than craftsmanship. However, they HAVE been translated quite well into such things as dresses and shoes. An excellent, albeit strange example of this is the watermelon knitted sweater by Sirena con Jersey. Another really fabulous example is the popcorn bucket dress by Nicole Linder. Of course neither of these are made out of any REAL fruits or popped vegetables, but they’re cute, right?

The next step I think is absurdly designed sneakers. Maybe just painted up a bit.

But until then…

What you’re about to view in the gallery below is only a small sampling of the cornucopia of foods translated as clothing as photographed by Bonavia. When one thinks of it, one wonders why things such as this have not been executed with as much skill in the past. It must just take the right combination of brain power and availability of action. Also it’s gotta be the right season for the farmers to grow these things.

NOTE: These items are now part of a published book by the same name “A Matter of Taste.” Fulvio Bonavia was inundated with requests so often that he collected all the images together in a fabulous presentation book, available wherever in the world you might find it for sale, you lucky dog you.

A little under a year ago was the last time I or we wrote anything about the artist / designer / wild animal known as AJ Fosik. Well I’m here to tell you: AJ Fosik rain in blood wasn’t over. It isn’t done. Last time you saw AJ Fosik there were mass amounts of beasts made in bright colors of painted wood over at White Walls. This time there are no walls. There are only bodies covered in what I can only describe as the most kitschtastic sweaters ever knitted. Each of them represents it’s own classic brand of beer. What a collection.

Fosik is slightly unclear on how these were attained, but each of them seems to have been a real in-production sweater knitted for the company by the company. For the beer drinker.

A word or two from the artist:

Promotional knit beer sweaters from the 70s and 80s. All of these sweaters were unearthed by me, rescued from moldy basements, plucked from dingy backwaters and ripped from the backs of greasy shitleopards. Unfortunately none of these trophies are for sale.

Please take a moment to inspect these massively appropriate for nowhere sweaters. They are fabulous, they are miraculous. To promote one’s favorite beer with their own clothing is one thing, wearing a bit of promotional material in which each stitch had to be well-layed-out in order for the logo and message to be clear, well, that’s a devoted fan of the genre.

I credit AJ Fosik at this moment to be one of the greatest design collectors I have ever seen. This collection of sweaters is fantastic, and shall go down in the record books as one of the most excellent design collections there ever was. Truly AJ Fosik is a design junkie if ever have I seen one.

Here we are with four of the most fantastic headphones to ever peep the light of music. They’re made by the CandyLab Limited group, known in the advertising world for their top-class 3D rendering, animation, and illustration. Each of the phones you see in this post is for a campaign working for Nokia telephones, but the earpieces themselves work wonders for your eyeballs on their own. The set you see above is based on Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Utterly fantastic realities created by hands in the real.

Each of these headsets is modeled in Maya and rendered in Mental Ray. The cell-phones are modelled by Michael Strathearn and rendered by Fabrizio Fioretti, and all of the headphones are created by James Bowron. Included in these four are: Jukebox (pink), Reggae (rugged, boxes and cantops), Organ (pipes and fire), and Jules (horns and padding.) All of this is CandyLab.

These headphones remind a fellow of the positively undeniable benchmarks set by gigantic blockbuster films such as Return of the King or Speed Racer. Every time I take a peek at these headphones or those films I get all pumped up. If you watch the “making of” Star Wars that comes with the slightly-recent Silver-box DVD set, you’ll see an older gentleman who describes his first viewing of A New Hope in the theater. He says he sat down with his family for dinner and told them that his whole life had been changed. Believe that.

When people take the time to make something as magnificent as these headphones, even when its for something so trival as a cellphone advertisement, it matters to everyone, even the people who never get to see it exist. The bar is set, and it inspires everyone. Shockwaves are sent through the industry, advertising to graphic design to the people who aren’t even working for cash money profit.

So let’s take a look at one fantabulous photographer whose project inspires a love for the face. How about that?

I think that’s a rad idea.

His name is Owen Silverwood.

The project / collection you’re looking at is a glimpse of Owen Silverwood’s take on faces. Faces, bodies, lips. If I’d be a teacher here for a moment, I’d like you to take a look specifically at the lips photos. I find them the most engaging of this whole extended set.

In such close-up photographs you see perfections aplenty. This is a distance that a human being would have to be a specialist at to be able to take fine care of. When you’ve got a beard, you know you’ve got the task of a lifetime set ahead of you if you plan on making each hair the same length.

But lo! That’s the loveliness. When the band Green Day made their first music video, they were called ugly as crap! But then they were loved for it. Owen Silverwood understands this. But then again, he’s photographing good looking people. That’s half the battle when you’re on the back end of an image collector device.

Here’s a dude that’s gotten right into the right business. The business of having famous people trust you enough to take their photo. Or at least having people of some famous rapport have their agents trust you enough to have their client under your lens. Mister Patrick Hoelck has that power. He is a photographer and as long at he holds that trust, he’ll be making the bank. That trust doesn’t come just from knowing people who know people however, you’ve got to have more. Like, you know, skills, and such.

Hoelck has hella skills. Look at these lights! Look for example at the couple sets of photos of Jack Black and Kyle Gass’s Tenacious D and N*E*R*D, made up of Pharrell Williams, Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley. These images are fabulous. Both of these groups of people are favorites of mine, and these images are among the best, most loving portraits of them I’ve seen! I wouldn’t object to having any of these right up on my wall.

Right up there!

Oh so you don’t know who Pharrell Williams is? You LIAR! He’s a dude. For basically a billion years now he’s been producing music with his pals in Star Trek, they all make music in the band N.E.R.D., and they all bump up the brands BAPE, Billionaire Boys Club, and Ice Cream shoes. Two of those three are owned by them, or at least Pharrell, and the third happens because Pharrell’s got a sweet deal with Nigo. It continues now! He’s got a new watch, N.E.R.D. is playing some music at an air base, and Terry Richardson took some flash photos of Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco. I know you love these things.

This stuff can be found also at Terry Richardson’s Diary, if you’re into that sort of thing, or you could personally know Pharrell Williams which I totally don’t. Or maybe Lupe. Lupe know him!

And them all wearing BBC and A Bathing Ape prominently, all the time, it’s basically part of their brand trademark now. Will those brands continue forever? I don’t see why not. They’re still fabulous and the makers are still super rich. Let’s keep doin it.

The video below is a little interview with Pharrell about his second step in his “Perspective” series of what’s probably going to continue to be chairs. The first set of chairs looked to be two people’s legs in what appeared to be a sexually charged situation. This second one is more of a gears of war world of sitting. Of course, neither of these is as insane as his Takashi Murakami head.

Oh AND there’s something in here with UFFIE, who is a lady you’re all going to love some day. Some day you’ll ALL love her. Uffie.

I’ve got a sauce jar full of buttons. I’ve got about a billion buttons, but only one sauce jar full of one-inch buttons. This is that. Let’s take a look through them, and keep in mind how SMALL they are, just 1 tiny inch across. If you wanna see what the button says, or what it’s got on it, you’ve gotta get all up right in the face of it.

In this collection right here, there’s somewhere around 70 buttons. And they’re all just FANTASTIC and THE BEST aren’t they? The ones with the squirrels on them are the ones I had made for the world.

This is a button… for the world… to give squirrels… to ex girlfriends!

From New England up in the North East of the United States comes Miss New England, a lovely little beauty pageant of tiny yet epic proportions. You can’t go there unless you’ve got a plane ticket. Have you got your ticket? No? Well alright we’ve got something even better: a photodocumentary of one of these miraculous events! A fantastic photographer indeed, Meghan Petersen, has set her camera up to collect the reality of the situation.

I’ve got the mixed feelings about the beauty pageants, I’m not sure about them, but I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what! They yield some lovely images. Weird, strange images you wont be finding anywhere else. That’s for sure I’ll tell you that.

The best photos are of the little girls crying.

Not that little people crying is a great thing, it’s a sort of regular thing, a part of life it is. But in this case, it’s pretty much just a sight to behold.

There ain’t no two way about it, some pigs just have tattoos. And there is more than one ways about how they got that way. The piggie you see above is one inked by a mister Andy Feehan, who had a rather interesting obsession with drawing the little buggers before he found the perfect combination, the solution to his unstoppable tick tack, that being the application of ink to the pig. And thus it was done. Below you’re going to find quite a few pigs tattooed by artist Wim Delvoye, who has made it a large part of his art career to do just this sort of thing, along with a bunch of unknowns as well.

There is a question of ethics, but since I’m almost certain Dolvoye and Feehan knocked the pigs out while they were cutting ink into their skin, I think it’s just a lovely activity.

Now the spraypainting of cows, on the other hand, that’s pretty gross.

As I’m sure you’re aware, the skin texture and softness and basically everything else is very similar to that of a human being. Thus, tattoos on a pig act very similar to the tattoos a person gets. Of course, as the pig is generally a subject of some joking existence, the tattoos on a pig are generally made in parody, as you’re about to see.

Below you will notice pigs that are alive, pigs that are stuffed and posed, pig skins that have been taken off of the pigs after they’ve kicked the bucket, and pig skins in frames. Any pig skin OFF of the pig is from Wim Delvoye, he is the only person who inks the live pig, skins them when they are dead, and displays the skin in a frame or naked. Unless you count the movie GOZU, in which they do the same thing, only with humans instead. Blech.

ALSO, as Jane Rainwater kindly reminded me, tattoo artists that generally work on human beings also sometimes practice on the skin of a pig. This is a reason why I’m baffled that I was only able to round up the small amount of images that I have here.

Personally, I am ashamed at my inability to find a photo of a pig with the Motorhead dog inked on its back. I assume it isn’t made yet now that I’ve searched, so this post is also a call out to all you artists to get that sow and sow that sow a nice one, metal style.

When you take a seat at your local sidewalk-side business, do you think about where you’re sitting in proximity to the windows? Perhaps if you do, when the windows seem too small, this becomes a non issue. Or maybe if you do, you sit close because you like to show off what you’re wearing, or maybe it’s spring and you want to stay close to the warming of the world? This photo project/collection “Through The Glass” by Stefano Mattia asks these questions, if you ask me, especially the one “what are you looking at, buster?” To the photographer. Or to whoever’s looking.

This project consists of a collection of 12 photos spanning Rome, Beijing, Paris, London, and Padova and two full years of photography, starting in 2008, going through the present, aka when this post is posted in early 2010. It’s what Mattia calls an ongoing project, so heed and take a peek at his page if this post is rather old when you see it.

It’s just as important to frame your photos as it is to frame your photo when you’re in this internet world. Blogs fire up their engines at the site of a set of pics that’ve got a name on them. When that name isn’t just some silly sad sack of arbitrary, the best things happen! “Through The Glass” is a classy set, each of the photos taken in a way that could never realistically be exact due to their proximity in the world, yet there they are, so nicely packed, they seem as though they could have been taken through the same pane of glass.

Well designer / artist Aron Kullander-Östling is about to get all up into the print shop and do something wild about it. Yes, that’s right, he’s gonna screenprint his way outta this one. And he does! In a limited edition of 50, he’s changed the world, one bag at a time. Taking the graphics from this 100% classic plastic bag you could find anywhere in the world basically, he transfered and inked his way onto 50 hand-sewn canvass bags.

Sewed em himself even!

That’s what I’m talkin about. For 200 Swedish krona (SEK) you could even get one yourself. Each bag contains a pamphlet about the message “Do something drastic, cut the plastic.”

Welcome to the state of shoes. It is a police state. Get a load of these stilettos. Pump them on up to the highest point of insane fashion extravaganza street festival. That’s totally a level of awesome. For these shoes. Made by industrial designer Tim Cooper using entirely 3D technology to render these bad boys out. Ohhh mama. Lock me up and throw away the police shoes. I just can’t stand them! Amazing!

Welcome to self-expression. I’m going to kick a mouse into a corner just so my feet can be arrested by these fabulous shoes. It’d have to be some other-worldly combination of clothes you’d have to be wearing to match these. Although, with the lights and bars and amazing complexity and all that, I’m sure a nice black dress would do just fine. Lady Gaga’d have a conniption fit. Not to mention Miley vs whats-her-name in the movie shoestore brawl.

Arrest those women!

I’m waiting for the sneakers that match. As I’ve said before and I’ll say again: I just can not do heels. Right on my nose I go.

Yes, I took the name of this post from the tagline of the shoes themselves. Shame on me! But it’s so good, I just couldn’t resist! How about you, if these existed in the real world, wouldn’t you just flip your lid? Even if you weren’t the kind of person who’d ever wear them, wouldn’t you just want them to have and to hold and to turn the lights on for a cop rave? Me! I do!

I’ll tell you why. About a billion little cute toys and a bunch of free posters. Holy crap free stuff and cute stuff. Robot Love is the future store for Minneapolis. The only one for about one billion miles in any direction, if memory serves me right, and stopping in today was just about the best thing I’ve done all day. I walk in and the head dude, Kris, is sitting behind the counter. “Hi Chris,” he says, because that’s my name also. “Oh hi,” I say. And he’s all “do you want some posters for free?” and I’m all “WTF yes I do.” And bam!

The posters K-money layed on me are what you see in the gallery below. Each of them is designed by Michael Cina, formerly of YouWorkForThem, currently of http://michaelcinaassociates.com/. Look at these wild posters. They’re all very nicely printed on heavy stock. Weirdly shaped to fill that odd bit of wallspace you’ve got open that you’ve been having a hecka’a'time filling up.

Nice and pretty, and Kris told me to tell you that they’re free for everyone. Just go ahead and say we sent ya on in. Free Michael Cina posters for all your wall-covering needs. Also, needless to say, Robot Love is currently, as always, packed to the brim with beautiful toys and collectables and books and clothing and amazingly friendly shopkeeps that you’d have to be entirely cold-hearted to resist. And a cute pink “open” sign!

PLUS! Plus, this is just a bonus on top of a bonus, they’ve got a few FRANK magazines by the door. FRANK is a really neat little mag that’s packed to the brim with neat stuff, and it’s also such a weird little size that you just cant resist. Nicely designed too!

Oh so you’ve got old photos at recognizable places, yes? So you’d like to reawaken the ghost in the machine? That’s scary. Let’s do it! First, get an old photo you can place. Next, get a camera. Then let’s go to the location you know connects to the photo. OK! Now, stand in just the right place and angle, hold that photo up somehow, and take a photo. Foosh! Look what you’ve done! This is friggin magical!

I think it’s really creepy too. It gives me a strange vibe, like I’ve never seen anything like this before, other than in horror movies with mirrors and such reflecting things you can’t otherwise see. I believe photographs have strange powers too. But don’t worry about that, you aren’t afraid of satan are you? Naw!

Let’s look through a whole gallery of these sorts of photos for some amazing inspiration to see what we’re gonna do!

Powell isn’t necessarily the guy who came up with the idea to put an old photo in front of a new scene to take a picture, but he’s REALLY GOOD AT IT, and he does have a gigantic pool of these sorts of photos floating around on flickr. This pool grows everyday, and it’s awesome and amazing. When you take some of these photos, be sure to contribute to Powell’s group for the most massive thumbs ups and such.

When you take photos like this, you might want to start with some stock photos if you havn’t already got a supply. A good resource for these sorts of photos to put in front of photos, is Powell’s source list. This is where to start if you havn’t been collecting what we in the industry call “instant relatives” from estate sales and rummage sales for 23p apiece.

Photographers Pauline Fabry and Daniel Torz have taken it upon themselves to keep the world on top of itself. Here in this post is their collection of freshness. Fabry and Torz photograph a set of people who’ve got style and finesse, plus one man underwater, with a bit of plastic rap. Look through this group of serious looking folks and note how nice and shiny fabulous it keeps them in it’s everyoung plastic state. It’s a holdup!

This tool, plastic rap, this material, is made to keep things in new condition, and this set of photos goes by the name “Keepfresh.” In it, a sort of tongue-in-cheek search for the truth behind the modern version of fashion addiction. Stayin fresh.

In these 35 photos find yourself a bit of weirdness. Components: one fashion conscious person, one bit of plastic rap, a bit of camera work.

Go Nigo Go Nigo Go! Go, go, go, go! Nigo, Nigo, rappala, Nigo, Nigo, hook fashion addict. Go! Go! Go! Go! — A Bathing Ape brand has the fishy smarts behind it. Those people know exactly what they’re doing when they bait this hook. What you see above (and below) is their new collaboration with Daiwa (fishing gear brand) – fishing lures with Bape camouflage graphics. Not just to further your total Bape lifestyle, but for the irony of the lure culture!

I must first mention that Bape, being the design conscious folks that they are, hooked up with a pretty magical brand here. Look no further than the official Daiwa mark (logo) and see how serious they are about their brand intelligence.

Now Bape, aka A Bathing Ape, grew then exploded all over the world using several extremely simple business concepts:

1. Limited Editions (Ignore cost of only producing a few hundred, push that bill on to the consumer, who will not only pay it, but will gladly pay it in order to be a special part of this subculture brand.)

2. Pretend to be Hidden (The original store, and still a bunch of stores today that sell Bape, were called “Nowhere” and had no marks on the outside of the building. You had to be “in the know,” making this brand not just a subculture brand, but a subculture in and of itself.)

3. Once the brand is “discovered”, strike the iron with celebrities and music personalities and music, brand collaborations, expansion to other products (like this lure.)

Nigo is the face of Bape. He is a personality, one of the original folks to conceive of the brand, and now the head promoter. In this lure is the brand-culture culture encapsulated.

It’s a lure to catch the fish who would gladly live in Nigo’s special brand fishtank.

The folks at YOUNG design studio have created a lovely vision of what could (very well?) be the future of fashion education. The Vivienne Westwood Academy in a single logomark and typestyle (and type arrangement.) Join up and be rebellious with a nice blue and white combination and extremely thin bits of solid. You win this round, negative space.

For those who don’t know, you’d best be suggested to find somone who does know, and call them. But for now, act like you know. Vivienne Westwood and her partner (former partner?) Malcolm McLaren molded fashion as we know it today. Having an academy for fashion under her name wouldn’t be too far a stretch at all if ye ask me.

and notice how that (official) mark and type are reflected in the blue and white YOUNG made mark. Nice progression? I love both.
