This monumental graduation project is called “Khoda.” Each painting placed in order over a 2 year start-to-finish period of production. Street artist Sam3’s been up to some good, goodness sake. Look at these two newest works of his, both of them gigantic black figures rolling away the bad vibes of the billboards they live at. What a spectacular gesture. It doesn’t even have to be about advertising, it’s just that excellent. These were painted with simple black acrylic/oil/mixed paint, whatever was free at the time, painted with rollers on long sticks. See the other one below.

Hooray for communication expansion! Industrial Designer / Superman Shane Crozier’s made a lovely little creature here to expand the way we simply peek at eachother by expanding emotion while also expanding personal space. How! How is that possible you might say. Well you just look at MeMe and you will understand. MeMe is a little LED-light-centered robot that runs on a SIM Card or a USB. You get your own, design it to look like you, then gift it to a friend with whom you’d like to stay connected.

HERO: a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Typically caped. I just made that up. I stole a little bit from the Apple dictionary. But it’s all true. What we’ve got here is a project on heroes by photographer Dulce Pinzon. This project projects the fantastic nature of the Mexican Immigrant Worker as a true hero. What makes the project spectacular is the costumes (duh), but more importantly: attached to each photo of a hero is their occupation and the amount of money they send back home each week (from the USA to their family in Mexico.)

Oh my goodness stickers. In the history of stickerdom I’d say one name “sticks” out in my mind pretty prominently. Shepard Fairey. He’s made a giant career out of stickering and in the process has come in to contact with many an art partner. One of those big-timers was and is PEEL, a magazine for graffiti stickers.

In the process of creating a fantastic outlet for street artists such as Shepard Fairey, the creators of PEEL Magazine, Dave and Holly Combs, have lost their home. It’s time to pay them back. The print you see in this post is made by Shepard Fairey and all proceeds from the sale of the print go toward helping the Combs couple out. Dig it!
