Oh hay! Takashi Murakami is having a new show! It’s gonna feature a four giant Kanye bears, one each of gold, bronze, silver, and full-color (for those of you new to the albums of Kanye West, he’s had a Bearlike avatar in place of himself on covers, the second newest of which was designed by Murakami.) This new show (which’ll be taking place in Paris) will also contain a bunch of what Murakami calls his self-portraits. Anything which includes a shipload of colors and fantastical images beyond imagination.

PRESENTING the wild and wacky world of Víctor Ortiz aka ICONBLAST. Check these illustrations out. They’re whacked out. This guy is so good, he made an illustration for Lil Wayne that makes Lil Wayne look good. That’s good. That’s real good. So many illustrators today start on the Adobe Illustrator tip, not taking the time to make a good picture happen, it’s quite the feet to smell a good pic direct from the 1’s and 0’s. Ortiz does this.

Pixels. That’s what I’m talkin about. Invader is a Frenchman from France who likes to French up all the artwork he gets his hands on. Invader’s main job for more than 10 years has been to make compilations of tiny tiles that make up images of alien invaders from an old video game you may have heard about. This show that starts June 27th at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York, NY. Take a peek below at a full preview of the show: rubix cubes, tiles, and even a smidgen of QR-Code graffiti.

An Unusual Update: Since this post was originally posted, lots of updates have happened. And Pharrell is a man of creativity and fine taste, so I tastied the post up a bit of a bit. It now contains Pharrell’s silliest interview with Paper magazine, a super-list of every song Pharrell has sung in, and super-amazing shiny colorful photo coverage of the Glow-in-the-Dark tour that NERD traveled on with Rihanna and Kayne West.
