The original title of this post was Unstoppable Rabbit Poster, but I mistyped it in a very correct way. I tell you about this exhibition event not only because Erik Brandt is a close friend of mine, but because his work is wild and the poster you see above is absolutely out of control, in a very controlled, calculated way. The exhibition is to take place at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a circle completion for Brandt, who there was once a candidate for his MFA. Look, listen, and read please, he is a good teacher.

Noone can resist that title. This is a project by one Emanuele Nardoni, a photographer from Milan who likes to hit the road and the airplane and basically go on the photo outings that you WISH you could go on. This one’s set in Tokyo and I believe in the surrounding areas, and it is titled, yes, “Made in Japan.” And it’s lovely. Just fantastical. My favorite photo is the one above “This is My Art” because although it’s sort of totally self-referential, juvenile, silly, goofy, I think it’s right on cue. I wonder if it’s tile, sticker, wood, or what?

Hot dogs! Oh my goodness hotdogs! Coney Island Dogs. That’s what’s up. We’ve got a place around here (Minneapolis, Minnesota) called Uncle Frankey’s. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. They make amazing Coney Island Dogs. Supposedly they’re better on the REAL island, but who knows! These people do. And when I say these people, I mean all the people who took the photos included in the super insanely huge World Famous Design Junkies Coney Island Sign Explorer Collection. Oh wow the signs. What’s going on Evan Hencox? A new show for you? Oh super! At the Joshua Liner Gallery the guy who pains scenes with nice flares of color has a brand new show coming up. This man, Hencox, has done a super-ton of a lot of prints, screenprints with a large amount of layers n inks. This show is made of his original works – his paintings. Splendiferous!
