NASA Shotgun

Hay it’s a gun theme! World Famous Design Junkies isn’t in to shooting people. Death isn’t the best thing unless it’s basically natural. But what we’ve got here is a NASA SHOTGUN. Yes that is right. Designer / fine artist Tom Sachs brings us this custom one-of-a-kind firearm, it being part of his quest to become a space-boyscout. And we all know, or we SHOULD all know, that incorporating NASA in to the design of a space-boyscout gun makes it totally Space-Official.

Just the other day the internet got totally interested in the gun we had posted up. It was (is) a 16MM Camera Pistol for the Japanese police. And now we’ve got a NASA shotgun. Are these things related? I think so!

Lem: ATF: MSA: Shotgun, 12 Guage, Breech-Loading, Handmade
mixed media
4 x 41 x 1.5 inches

We’ve got the shotgun, then some pistols (which have no brand, but are in the same project set, made basically the same way,) and a bonus knife!

LEM: ATF: MSA: Hand Gun, .45 Caliber, Breech-loading, Handmade
mixed media
6 x 8 x 1 inch

NASA Spyderco Knives
spyderco delica knife

While some might consider these part of the “Designer Name-Branding” theme of projects, aka everyday objects with a LV, Prada, or Gucci symbol pasted on them, but I say no! These NASA objects, created in a very “hand made” fashion, are much closer to painted-truck re-branding syndrome, aka the TO YO TA complex. Paint em up!

This post is part of the World Famous Design Junkies Custom Culture category. At the moment this post is made, it’s a pretty new category, so chill! It’s also part of the Outer Space category. Imagine that!
