When I made the post I remembered that it was on Der Spiegel, but it'd completely slipped my mind that it was also a pretty important mark in the whole of German history. Chris, it was decent of you to acknowledge your ignorance but really, you should know that about the bird. Before the Euro it was on many of the German coins. Most famously of course it was on a lot of Nazi insignia but it has been stylized and updated since then.... Really do like the cover!
