Crayola DIY Coloring Boxes

Und we will color crayon our way to a bright and 24 toned world. That is the way to the new future. The box is yellow and it’s got a little bit of green on it. Really! That’s how it’s always been. Since the beginning of time there’s been Crayola. And that’s all there’s ever been. And here we’ve got a smooth idea for a mirroristic box-coloring campaign by none other than designer Rob Matthews. He’s got color fever.

Crayola Colour-in Campaign
boxes 21 × 18.5 cm (8.3 × 7.3 in)
posters 99.8 × 66 cm (39.3 × 26 in)

A campaign for Crayola crayons that focuses on the idea of colouring in your own box. Crayola would be packaged in colour-in boxes for a limited time, so that you can colour in your own box with the crayons.

The second part of the campaign would be to run a colour-in box competition. The nets for the boxes would be distributed as pull-outs in kids magazines etc. Winning submissions would be produced as limited edition Crayola boxes.

Well it seems just so simple doesn’t it? It seems like someone must have thought about it before. Well they DIDN’T. It’s just fantastic in it’s ‘Shudda Thoughta It’ simplicity and that makes it a reel good idea. This post colors outside the lines in the World Famous Design Junkies packaging category. You’ll be a kid again.

Unless you’re rad and still use crayons anyway.
