What’s this? Construction? Out in the Basel, Switzerland. This is the Black Cross Bowl. Certainly a marker for those who wish to pray to the Skate Gods for so that they might bring unto them some tubular skating. See the extremely sparse portfolio of Andreas Brunner and a shitload of a lot more info on this ramp that’s been going strong for 3 years running, from construction to current.

Black Cross Bowl Built in Basel, Switzerland in 2006 by Pontus Alv and the locals of Basel. Dedicated to Torsten Alv and Bengt Alv.

From the looks of it, this project is co-sponsored by Emerica and Carhartt Skateboaring as well as the volunteers from around Basel.

I shall assume much skating repair and more skating since the inception. Check out the hell of info I picked up with hell of keywords searching; the Black Cross Bowl blog which has entries as old as 2006 and some as new as March 31 2009! Holy shit! That’s some hot documentation. The photos below are hereby mixed. At first they were gonna be photos exclusively from the guy Andreas Brunner, from the page where I first got the lowdown, but now there’s a bunch more from the blog, which has more than one photographer covering the action.

Behold, a Swiss legacy!
