Erik Inkala Minneapolis Going Away Party at First Ammendment Arts

Holy blizzardsmith this man is leaving. Erik Inkala. He is a graffiti artist here in Minneapolis and he is heading off to New York city with a big fat sendoff bash as set up by First Amendment Gallery aka Burlesque of North America. It’s sure to be a smelly bash! Apparently there’s going to be a crap-ton of artists involved in this show, and I have no idea where they are going to fit them all. Take a peek at this tiny space they’re going to smash artists into, then go to the show when it starts. Holy crap for god’s sakes.

The exhibition will feature new paintings by Inkala along with the work of 47 local artists that have inspired him during his time in Minneapolis. Join the party, see a lot of great art, and take the chance to wish Eric luck before he makes his move to New York.

Look at all these flim-flamming artists!

At this moment I need to point out an important part of Erik Inkala’s work, something that’s rare in the street art circuit or whatever you call it: mutual respect. In this case Inkala is kind enough to avoid covering up the signs that are crucial to the parking ramp garage area. I got me one other example of this, and it’s from the other side around.

Surrounded, Not Covered

ANyway, be at that show! I bet there’s free stickers and junk.
