Let me show you something sharp. This set of masks and mask related works right here belong to designer / artist Tan Howe Qin. He’s got what some people might call… a style. If you take a close look at his angles, his color pallet, his deep, deep distain for curvy lines, you’ll see it! Then smell the electronics. Buttons and light reflections everywhere. Grays! Grays blacks and whites for everyone!
This is a modern sort of sack of lines and circles. This is the sort of work that might never have been created if it weren’t for the great understanding of math that is computer graphics. Tan Howe Qin takes full advantage of the simple max-out then-reduce method of mayhem in his works. Masks especially here, then for fun, a couple of his alternative works like the Be@rbrick toy, a Tofu special edition, some Star Wars droids on superjuice, an amazing ape shirt that should DEFINITELY be produced by X-LARGE, and a few things that I don’t know the name of but recognize as pop.
Oh and a customized image of one of Michael Lau’s Gardener toys.
Super cool!
Then take a jaunt on over to his portfolio blog page for additional works and/or to hire him for his magical work-making hands and brain. He has an alternate name: Room-99, and he lives and works in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sometimes people need to know that for site-specific works, you know?
