A mister David Lasnier, designer and 3D pro, has replicated Marseille. In an extended stay and discovery mission on the streets of France’s largest commercial port, Lasnier exercised his skill on the ol’ 3D rendering engine to replicate iconic items he found all around the city. What a fabulous set of virtual items he’s conjured up!
It’s an interesting time in history for designers of all sorts. What tools do you need? That’s the question. Do you become a jack of all trades, master of none? Or is learning how to use every different tool the only way to become a true master?
From the looks of his portfolio, Lasnier‘s mastered several tools which are the following (and if not these, something comparable): Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, some sort of 3D rendering and animation engine(s), a pencil, a stamp, iPod touch (plus finger), some lovely video editing software, and the internets.
That’s hefty.
