Besides, there are plenty of different people from many different races that dress in this ridiculous manner.

For Whoever asked teh question why they whear pants liek that. it originally started as a fashion in prison/urban areas/inner cities. Outside of prison. Clothes that baggy allow room for hidden things. ie your weapons your stolen goods etc.. Within Prisons, Not only is it a way to distinguish your self as an individual using the same prison uniform in this altered way. It is a sighn of respect and “status” within the prison system because wearing pants this low and not being raped goes against the basic assumptions in prison. In other words Hey look what i can do, but you cant touch me or youll get beat up/killed etc.. Hope that helped, and if you dont believe me research it.

It started in prison when they wore their pants like this that meant open for business then it became a fashion statement (a horrible one I might add). So anyways, yes this is true. I’m sure the guys outside of prison aren’t exactly saying they’re open for business but still, that’s where it started.

Are the people commenting not from America? It’s true that this fashion did originate in the inner cities, but now kids even in rich towns (see above – that house certainly says money) dress that way because it’s what they see on tv. Our culture (American) is obsessed with emulating famous people. Rich rappers, getting lots of women, nice cars, partying and showing off. So people think somehow by dressing that way it says “Hey, I’m cool, I’m like so and so” and sadly enough women are just as bad, seeing a guy with a nice car they fall for it. What’s even more ridiculous those ill fitting clothes are costly so it truly is suburbanites who can afford to pull off the latest styles.
Anyway this is not racism at all, even if he was black it is still not racism b/c we are remarking on his fashion, not him as a person. Society needs to stop being so overly sensitive.
