Religion can be a wonderful thing in people’s lives. Organized religion and religion in government doesn’t go well, but that doesn’t mean we should HATE all religion.
There’s no need to teach children hate.

About a week ago, some young men set out to do exactly what this image is promoting. They walked right into a church and opened fire. By all means keep God out of our lives, and we’ll live as if there is none.
Reminds me of a quote: “I don’t exist.” –Satan

This image isn’t promoting hate. It’s promoting not teaching intolerance to children. It doesn’t say anything about shooting up churches. Absence of religion does not mean absence of moral teachings.
Alex
Kelsey- Isn’t this teaching intolerance towards religion or religious persons?
Drew
Replace religion with gay, blacks, Hispanics. Now who is being intolerant?
David
Alex – we need some intolerance. If we are tolerant of everything then we have to be tolerant of EVERYTHING – including things that are just stupid and including all the horrors you can think of. In reality, we have to make up our own minds what to tolerate and what is destructive and thus focus the intolerance in a constructive way. The problem is more to do with lack of empathy, lack of questioning and lack of thought. And yeah – religion does have a lot to answer for there. It has spent such a long time building up a non-questioning outlook in society and people in general that we are still struggling to escape from that and still suffering the consequences big time. That is not the same thing as wanting to get rid of religion full stop, but it is definitely not something to be tolerated!!
